Curt got hooked on fossils while in grade school after reading the Golden Nature Series book on fossils. That developed into a general interest in the Paleozoic invertebrate fossils of Wisconsin. One thing led to another and he obtained his PhD in Geology at the University of Iowa with a dissertation on the conodonts and miospores of the Iowa Devonian. He moved to Florida in 1999 to escape the frigid Midwestern winters and eventually was employed by Water Resource Solutions and Cardno as Chief Biostratigrapher and Hydrogeologist. He expanded his interest to include Cenozic invertebrates and paleopalynology but still retains an interest in the Paleozoic as well.
